£7,624 grant awarded to The Indy

£7,624 grant awarded to support our residents and grow our community spaces!

We’re delighted to announce that we have received a £7,624 grant from the B&Q Foundation via Neighbourly to help us improve accommodation, reduce isolation and create more opportunities for our residents to connect, learn and thrive.

Demand for our supported, transitional housing is growing, and we now have a waiting list for accommodation. Nationally, 13% of prison leavers were released directly into homelessness in 2024-25, a 39% increase since 2020 (Ministry of Justice, 2025).

But a home is about more than four walls. Our residents regularly tell us that social connection and access to green space are vital to their wellbeing and experience of living with us.

This funding will help us:

Equip and furnish 3 new rooms, increasing access to high-quality supported accommodation.

Create an outdoor meeting room for social activities, support and training.

Enhance our community garden with new equipment, rainwater capture and materials.

These improvements will help provide additional stable housing, reduce loneliness and isolation, and create therapeutic opportunities through outdoor learning and activities.

We’re incredibly grateful to the B&Q Foundation, delivered via Neighbourly, for supporting this project and helping us create spaces where people can feel at home, build connections and move forward with their lives.
