Family Support

For many of our residents, re-building links and relationships with family members is a priority.

What we offer

We support residents to re-build their relationships with family members in lots of different ways:

Making contact

Getting back in touch with family for the first time after a long break can be a huge hurdle for some people. We support our residents to make that first step, as and when it is right for all involved.

Building up links

We support people to re-connect with family over time – offering support and advice, facilitating meetings and helping people to overcome barriers and problems as relationships move on. We work with all the family, offering support and a listening ear to make sure that everyone can benefit, and that family can play a big part in re-building hope and positivity for our residents.

Practical information and help

Very often both our residents and their families have many unanswered questions about life after prison, systems, money, health and other issues that they struggle to find clear answers to. We help all involved to understand more about:

–   Release/ Licence conditions or any other criminal justice-related issues

–   Substance misuse support

–   Other physical and mental health support

–   Finance, debts, welfare benefits, credit unions and access to useful local resources

–   Child-related issues including Child in Need support

–   Community projects and activities in our area

Testimonials

In the last five years we have helped more than 200 people re-connect with their families. Here are some of the testimonials from our community members and their families…
