In September 2021 the Independence Initiativelaunched “The Indy Pantry”.
This is a community membership scheme that allows people to get great value for money on a weekly shop for food and other essential goods. With a £1 membership fee, members can access 10 items for £4.00 or 15 items for £6.00 each week. This includes food, toiletries, cleaning products plus much more.
The Indy Pantry is currently open every Wednesday 9.30am – 2.00pm. Anybody is welcome to come down and have a chat if you want to know more.
People all across society are facing food poverty, often due to a crisis in finance or personal circumstances and may also not be able to access or prepare a healthy diet. And when you visit the pantry, you will be offered advice relating to healthy eating and cookery, with recipes available every week.
