A Really Special Visit to The Indy

We recently had a really special visit to The Indy from Duncan Shrubsole, CEO of St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity.

It was lovely to welcome Duncan and give him the chance to see our work first-hand, meet our team and, most importantly, spend some time with the people who live here and use our services.

Seeing The Indy in Action

During the visit, Duncan had the opportunity to see some of the different parts of The Indy that make such a difference to our community.

He visited our accommodation, where residents have a safe and welcoming place to live while they work towards their next steps.

We also spent some time in our garden, which has become a really calming space for people to enjoy, get involved and spend time outside.

Duncan also visited The Indy Pantry, seeing how it provides more than just food. It’s somewhere people can come in, have a chat, feel welcome and spend time with others.

Meeting Our Residents

One of the best parts of the visit was Duncan getting to meet some of our residents and hear about their experiences.

For us, these conversations are so important.

It’s one thing to talk about supported housing, recovery and the services we provide, but it’s another to sit down with the people who are experiencing that support and hear about what it means to them.

Everyone’s journey is different, and having the opportunity to listen to those experiences helps show why safe accommodation, the right support and a sense of community really matter.

Building Something Together

We’re incredibly grateful to St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity for the support they have given us and for taking the time to come and see what that support is helping us achieve.

Visits like this give us a chance to share what we’re proud of, but also to talk honestly about the work still to be done and the opportunities we want to create for the future.

Most importantly, we’re proud of the people who make The Indy what it is, our residents, our team, volunteers and everyone who gets involved.

A huge thank you to Duncan for taking the time to visit, listen and see our work in action.

We’re proud of what we’re achieving together and excited about what’s still to come.
